The first pebble beach is located directly under the vacation house. While it's a public beach, it tends to be less crowded.
Here you can also rent kayaks and a small boat (ask your host about it).
In the surrounding area, there are numerous other bays offering diverse beach experiences. From pebble to rocky shores, to sandy beaches on the opposite side of the island, there's something to suit every preference.
For those who appreciate pebble beaches, a must-visit is the nearby Proizd island (accessible by a local boat departing from Vela Luka to Proizd island four times a day, with a 20-minute ride each way). Proizd island was acclaimed as the top beach destination in the Adriatic Sea in 2008. It boasts four stunning pebble beaches, one of which is designated for nudists.
Picena Bay, where the vacation house is situated, is a small bay located 5 km away from Vela Luka. It stands diametrically opposite the historical town of Korcula on the island. The nearest shop and market are in Vela Luka, where you'll find all the necessary amenities including shops, ice cream parlors, post office, local markets, bakeries, restaurants, and bars.
Another enchanting bay nearby is Stracincica that is only 5 min away from Vela Luka (where the ferry arrives).
Stracincica Bay remains untouched by mass tourism, offering a serene and tranquil environment with few tourists and no shops or restaurants. All such facilities are available in Vela Luka, just a 5-minute drive away. This ensures that your holiday experience is one of pure tranquility, with nothing but the endless sea and peace.
On-site (Picena Bay), there is a small restaurant with 4-5 tables, managed by your host and his father. They exclusively serve delicious dishes prepared from locally sourced ingredients (à la carte). The restaurant is open only in the evenings, but rest assured, the wait is worthwhile!
Prepare for an unforgettable meal featuring perfectly grilled sea bass, lightly grilled local vegetables seasoned with herbs and buttered potatoes garnished with parsley, followed by a delightful dessert.
The restaurant offers an intimate dining experience, and it's advisable to book a table in advance.
As the evening settles, the soft glow of lights illuminating the patio, the gentle hum of other guests, and the picturesque sea view provide the perfect conclusion to a wonderful day.
In Gradina Bay (20 minutes by car), you'll find another fantastic restaurant boasting delicious Mediterranean cuisine and a stunning beachfront location. Additionally, the agrotourism restaurant Miletic is highly recommended for its authentic Mediterranean dishes, offering one of the most genuine culinary experiences on the island.
Both Dubrovnik and Split airports are available options for your travel needs.
If you choose Split airport, you can take advantage of the ferry or catamaran services that operate from Split port, which will transport you to Vela Luka on Korcula Island. Once you arrive in Vela Luka, it will only take 10 minutes by car to reach your holiday home. Alternatively, there is a catamaran service that departs from Split port and travels directly to Korcula town. However, please note that if you opt for this option, you will need to allocate an additional 50 minutes of travel time to reach your holiday home.
If you decide to take the catamaran from Dubrovnik, you will arrive in Korcula town, where you will need to arrange a 50-minute taxi ride to reach your accommodation. We would be delighted to assist you with organizing your transportation, should you require it.

Upon entering the house, guests will be greeted by three separate bedrooms, each adorned in vibrant colors and featuring comfortable double beds suitable for couples or individuals. There are two bathrooms, one equipped with a shower and toilet, and the other boasting an en-suite toilet within one of the bedrooms.
All three bedrooms are conveniently located on the same floor as the fully-equipped, traditional kitchen and adjacent living room with a dining area and fireplace. The living room seamlessly opens onto a spacious covered terrace offering captivating sea views, providing guests with the perfect spot to unwind and immerse themselves in the serene Mediterranean surroundings.
A second private terrace, complete with garden furniture, a swaying hammock, and a BBQ, offers an ideal setting for preparing and enjoying delicious Mediterranean cuisine. The house is powered by solar energy and features amenities such as Wi-Fi, SAT TV, and air conditioning, ensuring guests' comfort and connectivity throughout their stay.
From the expansive terrace, guests can easily access the beach area, where they'll discover comfortable private sunbeds, a canopy, and the pristine waters of the Adriatic Sea stretching out before them. Adjacent to the house lies the first pebble beach, which though public, is never overly crowded. Guests can also take advantage of complimentary kayak rentals or opt to rent a small boat, with the host available to provide further details on-site.

What we tell you is 100% true. We hate making things look better. If you have small children and you want to make a reservation for a villa that has rocky beach in front of it, we will tell you that it is not ideal for the toddlers.
